Hi, my name is Ms. Ferris and I will be your third grade teacher this year. I am so excited to meet you and teach you about third grade and all it has to offer! Third grade is awesome!!!! The main requirements for my third grade classroom are, respect for your peers, teachers, school, and for yourself. "Respect" is such a small word, but its meaning is HUGE! I also ask that you try your best in all that you do! By trying your best, you will learn that you are more capable than you previously thought! Making personal gains in life is SO rewarding!
So, you want to learn about your teacher, well...I graduated from Wilmington University majoring in elementary education and minoring in special education. I am certified in both areas. I am currently attending Wilmington University working towards a master's degree in "Applied Educational Technology." I hope to graduate this May!! My favorite things in life are my family, being an aunt to Chloe and Jake, the color blue, eating crabs (Yum!), spending time with my friend Bob, and being a teacher. My best friend is my sister Pauline, who lives in Florida where I grew up. She is a teacher too!
As far as my family is concerned, I have two awesome daughters, Casey 21, and Ashley 17. Casey is also in college (Wilmington University). She is working on a degree in secondary math. She wants to be a high school math teacher! She will be a great teacher! Ashley is a senior in high school, the editor of her school newspaper, SGA officer, and competes in "cross country, hurdles, and other track related events." She wants to go to college to study journalism. I am so proud of both my daughters! Along with my children, I have Daisy, my chocolate lab mix. Daisy (aka, Mama, Heavy-D, or Dee Dee) is now 10 years old, and is still going strong! Her favorite things in life are "cookies," Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, and being by my side every minute that she can! My friend Bob works in agriculture and enjoys hunting. He is also into physical fitness. Bob and I enjoy working in the garden, exercising, eating crabs, and going to the beach together. Below I have included some of my family pictures for you to see!
